KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- Doha’s culinary scene takes centre stage as the MICHELIN Guide unveils its 2026 edition, celebrating the city’s rapidly evolving gastronomic identity and introducing 12 new restaurants, including nine added to the selection.
According to the Guide, eight restaurants earned the Bib Gourmand distinction for offering exceptional value, while three establishments received a One MICHELIN Star distinction.
“The MICHELIN Guide Doha 2026 selection reflects the remarkable evolution of this dynamic city’s culinary scene. Doha has now firmly established itself as a destination for food lovers seeking exceptional experiences.
“The addition of new Bib Gourmand distinctions and the continued presence of One MICHELIN Star restaurants highlight Doha’s commitment to quality, creativity, and innovation,” said The MICHELIN Guide International Director, Gwendal Poullennec in a statement.
Alba, the Italian restaurant located within Katara Towers at Raffles Doha, has been promoted to One MICHELIN Star, recognising Chef Cristhian Serraino’s refined dishes.
Meanwhile, Jamavar and IDAM by Alain Ducasse have retained their MICHELIN Star distinctions, reaffirming their mastery and commitment to exceptional dining.
Four new restaurants received the Bib Gourmand distinction this year, including Fenyal, a cosy café on Gewan Island known for its pocket-friendly Middle Eastern dishes; Mila, which offers Mediterranean and Levantine sharing plates; Berenjak Al Maha, specialising in Persian cuisine; and Baron, the Doha outpost of the Beirut favourite recognised for its generous Mediterranean fusion plates. Separately, Isaan, Argan, Jiwan, and Hoppers retain their Bib Gourmand distinctions.
Nine further establishments were added to the Guide’s selection, namely Lebanese favourite Em Sherif; the New York-born Carbone Doha; Koo Madame, known for dim sum and hand-pulled noodles; Shanghai Me Doha, offering refined Chinese-Japanese dishes; Hunters Room & Grill, specialising in premium Australian steaks; Salt Road, showcasing South African flavours; Loris, serving classic Lebanese fare; Mr & Mrs Hawker with Singaporean street-food staples; and yūn, a destination for Cantonese cuisine with panoramic city views.
The MICHELIN Guide also announced its Special Awards, honouring standout talent across hospitality, including Chef Cristhian Serraino of Alba, who received the MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award. Koo Madame earned the Opening of the Year Award, while Shanghai Me Doha received the Service Award for its polished and attentive team.
