200 P-Hailing Riders In Padang Serai Receive MADANI Boxes

KULIM, Jan 1 (Bernama) -- A total of 200 p-hailing delivery riders in the Padang Serai Parliamentary constituency here received MADANI Boxes in conjunction with the 2026 New Year celebrations today.

Saiful Ambar Abdullah Ambar, Special Officer to the Home Minister, stated that the initiative was implemented to celebrate and appreciate the role played by these "road heroes" in boosting the local economy.

"Today’s programme is organised by the Community Service Center of Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. A total of 200 MADANI Boxes were distributed to p-hailing riders today.

"We realise they spend most of their time on the road, so in conjunction with New Year 2026, we are distributing boxes containing ready-to-eat food to make it easier for them to have their meals," he told Bernama at the Community Service Center in Lunas near here today.

He added that this is the first time such a programme has been held involving riders from FoodPanda, GrabFood, Misi, ShopeeFood, and Lalamove, and it will be continued in the future.

"Many turned up today despite the time constraints of their respective duties; I thank them all for taking the time to attend," he said.

Meanwhile, a recipient, Muhammad Effendi Talib, 49, who has been a p-hailing rider for three years, said this was the first time he had received such a contribution.

"When we are celebrated like this, we feel happy and deeply appreciated. Usually, at the beginning of the year, a head of the household has to make various preparations, including school expenses, and this contribution indirectly lightens our burden," he said.

A 22-year-old Muhammad Hakimi Zamri said he was excited and grateful for the initiative implemented by the MADANI government, which he said is always attentive to all levels of society, especially the B40 group.

"This is the first time food delivery riders like us have been celebrated. Usually, those of us in this line of work have very irregular meal times.

"Receiving ready-to-eat food contributions like this not only saves time but also reduces our daily expenses to some extent," he said.
