YAPEIM Launches #HopeforGaza Campaign, Aims To Raise RM1 Million

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM) today launched the #HopeforGaza campaign to help ease the suffering of the people in Gaza.

Its director-general Zabidi Nasan said the foundation aims to raise RM1 million through donations and infak contributions from the public.

“Funds collected through the campaign will be channelled to the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Musaadah Fund before being distributed to the people in Gaza,” he said at the YAPEIM Strategic Partners appreciation ceremony 2025 here today.

The event, launched by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan, was also attended by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Marhamah Rosli and YAPEIM Board of Trustees chairman Abdul Khudus Mohd Naaim.

Zulkifli, who also launched the #HopeforGaza campaign, praised YAPEIM’s initiative, describing it as being responsive to the plight of fellow Muslims in Palestine, particularly in Gaza.

The appreciation ceremony was organised to recognise and strengthen collaborative ties with corporate bodies, institutions and individuals who have consistently contributed to efforts to enhance the socio-economic well-being of the community through YAPEIM.

About 400 individuals from various backgrounds attended the ceremony, comprising Strategic Infak Partners (RSI) and Corporate Strategic Partners (RSK), employer representatives and beneficiaries.

At the ceremony, Zulkifli handed over Sinar Lestari Assistance and Education Assistance as well as appreciation certificates to four top contributors in the RSI category and certificates of appreciation to corporate partners.

Previously, YAPEIM’s Infak Year 2026 was launched as a strategic initiative to strengthen the culture of infak among the people, while positioning YAPEIM as a national infak institution and the ummah’s preferred choice.
