KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 (Bernama) -- The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has launched Taste Hong Kong, a new gourmet guide developed in collaboration with the Chinese Culinary Institute (CCI), to showcase the city’s diverse culinary culture.
Hong Kong has long been recognised as one of the world’s leading food destinations, defined by contrasts where street-side eateries coexist alongside Michelin-starred restaurants, and where “Great Taste” can be found across the city.
The chef-curated guide features recommendations from more than 50 master chefs, all graduates of CCI’s Master Chef Course in Chinese Cuisine, who have collectively selected 250 restaurants across Hong Kong’s neighbourhoods, highlighting the establishments they frequent most.
Offering a comprehensive overview of the culinary landscape, Taste Hong Kong spans a wide range of Chinese cuisines as well as international offerings, from traditional noodle shops and dessert parlours to family-run eateries, artisanal cafés, upscale hotel restaurants and Michelin-starred dining venues.
According to HKTB in a statement, the guide goes beyond conventional rankings and accolades by providing an insider perspective on the city’s most authentic and distinctive gastronomic experiences.
At the heart of Taste Hong Kong are the chefs themselves, many of whom lead some of Hong Kong’s most celebrated dining establishments. Their recommendations reflect both professional expertise and deep personal connections to the city’s food culture.
Notable contributors include Michelin-starred chefs Adam Wong and Lee Man-sing, who shared personal selections shaped by their culinary roots and long-standing engagement with Hong Kong’s dining scene.
Designed for both visitors and residents, Taste Hong Kong organises its 250 restaurant picks by neighbourhood, encouraging exploration beyond established dining districts and offering insight into the unique character of different areas.
The initiative is supported by digital content, including neighbourhood videos and curated maps hosted on a dedicated website. A downloadable digital edition of the guide is also available to assist with meal planning and neighbourhood discovery.
