RM800 Million Early Schooling Aid Funded By Targeted Subsidies - Saifuddin

29/01/2026 09:52 PM

KULIM, Jan 29 (Bernama) -- The RM800 million allocation spent by the government through the Early Schooling Aid (BAP) for students nationwide is the result of the implementation of targeted subsidies.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that this amount represents a significant commitment by the MADANI Government to ensure that no child drops out of school simply due to financial constraints.

“This is the result of implementing targeted subsidies. When leakages are reduced, national funds can be managed more prudently, and the surplus is redistributed directly to the people.

“God willing (Insya-Allah), measures like this will continue to be strengthened. What matters most is that the benefits reach the intended hands,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Saifuddin Nasution said that he visited Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Taman Mutiara in Karangan, near here today, to present a mock check for BAP amounting to RM116,400.

According to him, for the state of Kedah alone, a total of RM50,500,350 has been allocated for BAP, benefiting 336,669 students.
