Boost Engagement With Quran To Reinforce Ummah Development - Raja Of Perlis

KANGAR, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail has expressed hope that the state government will continue to strengthen the appreciation and understanding of the Quran as the foundation of ummah development, to cultivate a Muslim community with a strong sense of identity, firmly rooted in Rabbani (divine) values.

Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin said the Quran will remain preserved until the Day of Judgement and forms the foundation of Insan Rabbani Bestari, grounded in absolute truth.

“The message of tawhid in Surah al-Ikhlas underscores the greatness of Allah as the foundation for nurturing a Rabbani character.

“In addition, the Quran stands as a supreme and universal constitution, guiding the ummah in leading their lives and administering society with justice, integrity and wisdom,” he said when officiating the closing and prize-giving ceremony of state-level Quran Recitation and Memorisation competition at Dewan Warisan here last night.

Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, were also in attendance.

Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin added that the Quran's scientific and natural mukjizat (miracles) highlight Islam’s commitment to knowledge, inspiring humans to study, reflect, and govern the world according to Allah’s law.

“Let this event serve as a starting point to foster a consistent connection with the Quran, particularly in preparation for the upcoming Ramadan, by strengthening both recitation and tadabbur (reflection),” the Raja of Perlis said.

At the event, Muhammad Anas Abdul Hadi and Norsyafirah Jusoh were crowned Qari and Qariah, each receiving RM8,000, a certificate, a plaque, other prizes and gifts from the Raja of Perlis and Raja Perempuan of Perlis, Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid.
