KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Fuzhou rolled out a city-wide Lunar New Year campaign combining cultural celebrations and consumer incentives, offering free public transportation and millions of Chinese yuan in consumption vouchers to stimulate tourism and holiday spending.
The programme showcased a wide range of festive attractions, including intangible cultural heritage activities, folk performances and visits to red tourism landmarks, highlighting the city’s diversified holiday offerings and local lifestyle experiences during the Spring Festival period.
To mark the Year of the Horse, Fuzhou also released its global promotional video, "Welcome to Fuzhou For A Happy Chinese New Year", across multiple international channels, according to a statement.
The campaign was featured on the iconic screen at Times Square in New York, extending the city’s international visibility.
The campaign aims to attract overseas visitors to experience the culture, urban life and tourism offerings of Fujian, promoting what it describes as the "72 Ways to Live Modern Fujian Life" and strengthening Fuzhou’s profile as a global holiday destination.
