MTD Properties Continues Community Outreach Tradition Through Q’aseh Ramadan

MELAKA, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- MTD Properties has continued its tradition of empowering community development through the organisation of the Q’aseh Ramadan programme with residents of Taman Tasik Utama, Ayer Keroh here, as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

MTD Group chief executive officer Reime Rizal Abdul Aziz said the programme reflects the company’s development philosophy, which emphasises a balance between physical progress and human values, in line with its long-term commitment to developing communities at every project location.

He said as a company with more than 35 years in the industry and the developer of Taman Tasik Utama, MTD Properties’ responsibility does not end with building houses, but also extends to building lives and strengthening communities.

“This programme is not merely about distributing bubur lambuk (a type of porridge popular during Ramadan) or seasonal contributions, but emphasises the physical presence of management and staff to foster closer ties with the local community.

“After 35 years here, we are still with the community because we want to remain connected and ensure this relationship stays strong, not just turn up to hand over contributions and then leave,” he told reporters after officiating the CSR Q’aseh Ramadan Programme at Masjid Taman Tasik Utama here today.

Also present were MTD Group chief operating officer Dr Nik Fauzan Nik Faizul and Masjid Taman Tasik Utama chairman Noor Fadhil Noor Muhammad.

He said the programme, organised in collaboration with the mosque, featured activities such as a gotong-royong to prepare and distribute bubur lambuk, duit raya contributions to 84 orphans and asnaf (tithe recipients), donations to the mosque as well as an iftar event with the community.

He added that the initiative not only enlivened the arrival of Ramadan, but also formed part of the company’s post-CSR efforts to create closer interaction between its employees and local residents, thereby strengthening ties even after project completion.

Commenting further, Reime Rizal said the Q’aseh Ramadan Programme had previously been held in Taman Sutera, Kajang as a continuation of the company’s efforts to engage communities in all its development areas.

“This is nothing new; we are simply reinforcing and reviving the spirit and tradition established by the company’s founder, the late Tan Sri Dr Nik Hussain Abdul Rahman, because the best way to sustain relationships with the community is to be on the ground, listen and be with them,” he said.

Meanwhile, Noor Fadhil said they were honoured by the programme, which was organised for the first time in collaboration with MTD Properties, in reaching out to the local community ahead of Hari Raya.

“This is the first time such a programme has been held with MTD Properties and we hope similar events will continue in the coming years to celebrate orphans and asnaf, which may also attract more companies to participate.

“Programmes like this are important in fostering ummah unity by bringing congregants and local residents closer to the mosque,” he said.

After more than three decades in operation, MTD Properties has consistently integrated social responsibility elements into each development to ensure that physical growth moves in tandem with stronger community values and social wellbeing.
