YADIM: 300 Food Kits Distributed Under Harapan Ramadan Programme In Melaka

MELAKA, March 11 (Bernama) -- The Harapan Ramadan programme, organised by CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, in collaboration with the Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM), distributed 300 food kits with a total value of RM44,000 to underprivileged groups in Melaka.

Negeri Sembilan and Melaka YADIM director Abdul Halim Ismail said the food kits contained basic necessities such as rice, cooking oil, flour, sugar, as well as several Syawal preparation items, each valued at RM150.

“In Melaka, the distribution is carried out in three areas - Jasin, Melaka Tengah and Alor Gajah - in stages. Today marks the second phase in Melaka Tengah, while Alor Gajah will follow this Thursday, with 100 recipients in each district.

“The recipients of this assistance are among those who qualify, such as single mothers and the poor and needy, whom we have identified,” he told reporters after the Melaka-level Harapan Ramadan 2026 programme last night.

Also present was Pertubuhan Sejagat, Amal, Takwa dan Ukhwah patron Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.

Abdul Halim said the contribution of the food kits aims to ease the cost of living for the targeted groups under the programme, while also bringing them joy as they prepare to celebrate Aidilfitri.

In another development, he said YADIM will implement the Rakan Masjid X Rakan Muda Ramadan programme for Melaka, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, at Masjid Al-Abrar, Semabok, on March 15.

He said the programme will be attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari and Duyong assemblyman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halem.

“Among the activities lined up for the programme is a Quran recitation (tadarus) session to be held across the three districts in Melaka, involving 50 participants from each district. The khatam Quran ceremony will also take place on the same day, with 30 participants from each district,” he said.
