KOTA KINABALU, March 12 (Bernama) -- The number of flood evacuees in Sabah dropped to 75 people from 23 families as of 8 this evening, compared with 300 people from 93 families reported earlier.
The Sabah Disaster Management Committee secretariat, in a statement, said that 30 villages in the Paitan district are still affected, but only two temporary relief centres have been opened.
The relief centres are the Batagon Darat Community Centre and the Surau Nur Hikmah in Kampung Kaindangan.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms in several inland areas of the state tonight.
