16/03/2026 08:38 PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, March 16 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed that its investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds from the Sejahtera Komuniti MADANI (Sejati MADANI) programme in Terengganu found no offence under the MACC Act 2009 committed by any party.

The Terengganu MACC said the probe followed the opening of an investigation paper into the matter last year.

“The investigation paper was opened last year, and the MACC has found that no offence was committed under the MACC Act 2009,” it said in a statement today.

Terengganu MACC director Hazrul Shazreen Abd Yazid, when contacted, confirmed the matter and urged anyone with information or evidence regarding the alleged misappropriation of allocations from the Sejati MADANI programme to come forward and cooperate.

Parti Amanah Negara national committee member Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad had earlier called on the MACC to probe claims of misappropriated allocations under the programme.

Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah said he had received multiple complaints about the project in Terengganu, alleging that state-level political figures had misappropriated funds intended for low-income participants.

Launched in March 2024, the Sejati MADANI programme aims to boost local socio-economic development by providing funding of up to RM100,000, with a focus on agriculture, livestock, handicrafts, and tourism to empower communities nationwide.
