28/03/2026 11:52 AM

KOTA KINABALU, March 28 (Bernama) -- The Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET) will continue to enhance collaboration with regional organisations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to promote Sabah as a competitive investment destination.

Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III Ewon Benedick said strategic partnerships between the government and organisations such as Junior Chamber International (JCI) play a vital role in driving economic growth, trade and business development in the state.

“The state government, through MINDET, remains committed to supporting entrepreneurs and young leaders, including JCI members, through initiatives such as access to financing, entrepreneurship training, capacity-building programmes and strategic networking with industry players and investors,” he said.

He was speaking at the Association of JCI Senators in The South East Asian Nations (ASSEAN) 1st Board of Directors Meeting & Installation 2026 held at a hotel here yesterday.

Ewon added that the ministry will continue to expand market access for local businesses, including assisting entrepreneurs in penetrating international markets, while strengthening logistics and supply chain systems to support sustainable business growth in Sabah.

“MINDET will intensify efforts to position Sabah as a key destination for investment, industry and business,” he said.

He also emphasised that close collaboration between the government and NGOs can help nurture capable leaders and competitive entrepreneurs, ultimately contributing to economic development and community well-being.
