PUTRAJAYA, March 31 (Bernama) -- The success of candidates in the 2025 SPM examination reflects the sacrifices and unwavering commitment of the teachers who guided them throughout their schooling years, said Education director-general Datuk Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad.
He said SPM 2025 candidates underwent a long teaching and learning process, beginning from preschool, followed by six years of primary school and five years of secondary school.
“This 11- to 12-year period was filled with challenges, but the efforts of teachers in implementing various interventions helped develop students’ potential, enabling them to sit for the examination with strong resilience.
“Thanks to the unwavering dedication of teachers, who tirelessly carried out intervention after intervention to nurture their students’ potential, those guided and educated in the classroom were able to move forward with strong resilience and successfully sit for the SPM 2025 examination,” he said at a press conference announcing the SPM 2025 results, here, today.
The SPM 2025 results recorded a National Average Grade (GPK) of 4.42 points, compared with 4.49 points in SPM 2024; with 366,435 candidates qualifying for the SPM certificate, compared with 355,933 in 2024.
He said that the success was also driven by the support of various parties, including the state education departments, district education offices, parents and communities, as well as government and private agencies.
“This integrated collaboration is a key ingredient in ensuring the success of various educational initiatives, and in bridging the gap between urban and rural areas through the provision of infrastructure, placement of quality teachers, and the implementation of comprehensive interventions,” he said.
At the same time, Mohd Azam expressed his highest appreciation to all members of the education community, especially teachers, for their dedication to educating the nation’s children.
“Today, I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all teachers in Malaysia, from those in preschools, primary and secondary schools, from Putrajaya to Sebuyau and Serudung Laut. Their invaluable contributions are reflected in the SPM 2025 results. My heartfelt congratulations to all,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to examination personnel, including invigilators, who worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth conduct of SPM 2025.
Mohd Azam also congratulated all SPM 2025 candidates, describing them as educated individuals with broad opportunities to achieve further success in the future.
“Indeed, there are vast opportunities ahead of you to continue striving for excellence in your lives. I pray that all your affairs will be eased and that you will succeed,” he said.
