IPOH, April 2 (Bernama) -- An estimated 100,000 visitors are expected at the Perak MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2026, which will be held over three days starting tomorrow at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya.
Perak State Secretariat (Corporate Division) principal assistant state secretary Anita Amri said the programme is a continuation of an initiative introduced in 2024 to provide the public with easier access to various government services, assistance and initiatives at a single strategic location.
“It is not a new initiative. It has been implemented since 2024 and is being continued this year following the strong response received,” she said when met by Bernama at the venue here today.
“For this large-scale programme in Perak, we are targeting 100,000 visitors,” she added.
She said this year’s theme, “Sustainable Cities, Quality Housing, Harmonious Communities”, underscores the government’s aspiration to align sustainable urban development with community well-being, as a foundation for social stability and national progress.
With the Ministry of Housing and Local Government serving as the lead ministry, the programme will emphasise sustainable urban development and quality housing initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life.
More than 30 booths involving federal and state agencies, government-linked companies (GLCs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) will be featured, offering various services to the public.
The programme runs daily from 9 am to 10 pm, except on Sunday when it ends at 6 pm.
Among the highlights are the Rahmah Sales, offering discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent, a career carnival, a free motorcycle helmet exchange, a local food festival, as well as complimentary motorcycle engine oil changes and haircuts.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the programme on Saturday.
