SekPur Calls For Immediate MACC Probe Into Alleged Corruption Linked To Former Minister

10/04/2026 09:02 PM

PUTRAJAYA, April 10 (Bernama) -- Sekretariat Gerak Gempur Media Sosial Rakyat (SekPur) today urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into an alleged RM500,000 transaction involving a former minister.

Its secretary-general, Major (Rtd) Razali Zakaria, said the investigation must be carried out immediately following viral reports on an online portal regarding an alleged vending machine project scandal, which reportedly involved RM500,000 in bribes.

“All the details we have obtained, which comprise about 20 pages, are as published by the Malaysia Corporate (portal). As such, we found that there is indeed credible evidence relating to the RM500,000 transaction,” he said.

“We leave it to the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) ) to prove or investigate whether the allegations are true,” he told reporters after lodging a report with the MACC here today.

Razali, who is also the secretary of the Malaysian Digital Media Organisation (MEMO), said SekPur had lodged a police report two days ago after receiving information from the portal, and today’s report was made to allow the authorities to verify the authenticity of the information and curb public speculation.

He said the allegations involving a former minister required serious scrutiny as they could affect the integrity of government institutions if not investigated transparently.

When asked whether the facts had been verified, Razali said his party had no authority to cross-check documents said to contain information on financial transactions and instead left it to the MACC and police to conduct further investigations.

He claimed that the documents received contained detailed information, including bank transactions, individual profiles and price quotations, which he described as complete.

Razali said parties with authority such as the MACC and the police could conduct further checks, including seeking confirmation from financial institutions where necessary.

SekPur Political Bureau chairman Shahbudin Embun said the MACC investigation was important to determine whether there were elements of abuse of power or corruption as alleged in the report.

Meanwhile, the MACC has confirmed receiving an official complaint over alleged misconduct and corruption involving a former minister in connection with suspicious transactions totalling RM500,000 linked to a vending machine project.

Its Strategic Communications director,  Hisyam Mohd Yusoff,  said the complaint was submitted by Sekretariat Gerak Gempur Media Sosial Rakyat (SekPur)  political bureau chairman Shahbudin Embun.

“MACC has received the relevant documents and will examine them for further action,” he said in a statement.
