KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 (Bernama) -- Sungai Buloh MP Datuk Seri R. Ramanan is committed to strengthening infrastructure and improving the quality of education at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seksyen 8 Kota Damansara through allocations amounting to more than RM100,000 since 2023.
The Human Resource Minister said efforts to enhance educational facilities at the school will remain a key focus to ensure students enjoy a more conducive and quality learning environment.
“School infrastructure development and support for students are important investments for the nation’s future. We will continue to ensure schools such as SMK Seksyen 8 Kota Damansara receive due attention so that the talents and potential of our children can be further developed,” he said in a statement today.
He said that through the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Service Centre, various contributions and initiatives to improve school facilities have been implemented in stages, including the installation of air-conditioning systems in the computer laboratory, library, teachers’ room, counselling and guidance unit room, and examination room in 2023, amounting to RM41,700.
In 2024, he said RM17,034 was allocated for the purchase of air coolers and a PA system for the school hall, as well as RM10,000 for the Rakyat Tuition Programme organised by Yayasan Bank Rakyat.
Ramanan said RM21,800 was allocated for various school programmes, including the annual sports championship.
Overall, he said the total allocation and contributions channelled specifically to SMK Seksyen 8 Kota Damansara to date amounted to more than RM100,000.
“These ongoing initiatives reflect our continuous commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and ensuring the welfare of students and school staff is well taken care of towards more holistic excellence,” he said.
Ramanan also announced an allocation under the Projek Mesra Rakyat to renovate the school surau following requests from the school community for a more comfortable and conducive environment for students.
He also said he had contacted Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh to propose the construction of a new school field.
