KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 (Bernama) -- The Central Terengganu Development Authority (KETENGAH) has strong potential to continue advancing as a key driver of sustainable regional development, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said that since its incorporation in 1973, KETENGAH has played a significant role in improving the socio-economic development of rural communities in Terengganu.
“Many changes have been undertaken and the outcomes remain evident to the people to this day,” he said in a Facebook post in conjunction with the agency’s 53rd anniversary.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Rural and Regional Development Minister, said KETENGAH also has strong potential to further strengthen the eco-tourism sector, supported by its natural attractions and unique local heritage.
He said that with structured planning and consistent implementation, KETENGAH can help create more economic opportunities for the local community.
“I pray that KETENGAH will continue to achieve greater success in the future for the well-being of the people and regional development,” he said.
Incorporated on April 12, 1973, KETENGAH is an agency under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry tasked with implementing economic and social development within a 653,075-hectare area covering the interior regions of Dungun, Kemaman and Hulu Terengganu.
