KTMB Enhances ETS Onboard F&B, Boosts MSME Market Access

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) is revamping its onboard food and beverage (F&B) services for Electric Train Service (ETS) passengers, a move aimed at improving travel comfort while creating new market access for local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The national rail operator said the service is now fully managed in-house under its new ‘Stesen’ brand, which introduces a refreshed concept featuring more contemporary offerings and local favourites.

KTMB chief executive officer Datuk Azlan Shah Al-Bakri said the initiative aims to elevate the passenger experience with fresher, higher-quality meals throughout the journey.

“At the same time, it allows local food entrepreneurs to showcase their products to a broader customer base, including international visitors, while strengthening the domestic business ecosystem,” he said in a statement today.

Passengers can now choose from a wider range of meals and beverages, including traditional kuih and dishes familiar to Malaysian tastes.

KTMB said the initiative also aligns with the government’s agenda under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) to help enterprises scale up from micro to small, and from small to medium-sized businesses, in support of more inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

To ensure smooth delivery, each ETS service is supported by a dedicated onboard crew that manages the bistro and serves passengers during the trip.

KTMB said the enhancement is expected to reinforce ETS’s standing as a preferred mode of modern rail travel in Malaysia.
