KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 (Bernama) -- Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has expressed her condolences to the family of the late Luqman Kamil Jamaluddin, 16, who was found drowned after being reported missing while searching for clams at Balok Beach, Pahang, yesterday.
In a post on Facebook today, Fadhlina said the Education Ministry's (MOE) priority now is to ensure that the best assistance be channeled to Luqman Kamil's family.
"My condolences go out to the entire family. May the deceased's soul be placed among the faithful and the entire family be granted patience in facing this difficult ordeal," she said.
In the incident yesterday evening, Luqman Kamil, who was also a form four student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultan Abu Bakar, Kuantan, was reported to have drowned while searching for clams at Balok Beach.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations assistant director Mohd Salahuddin Isa in a statement said the student's body was found at 2.15pm floating about 400 metres from the estuary by the search and rescue (SAR) team which had been conducting operations since yesterday.
