KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Health (MOH) has approved an allocation of over RM1.8 million to upgrade facilities at the Rompin Health Clinic and Jempol Hospital in Negeri Sembilan to address constraints faced by staff and patients.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the allocation would be utilised for critical physical infrastructure upgrades.
He said this includes creating more conducive patient waiting areas, maintaining staff quarters, and replacing obsolete nurse call systems in wards to ensure patient safety.
In addition to infrastructure, he said the funding would focus on procuring new medical assets and equipment to replace dilapidated units.
“Access to upgraded medical equipment means that diagnostics, surgeries, and emergency treatments can be performed more swiftly, reducing the need for frequent patient referrals to other hospitals,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Dzulkefly said the allocation manifests the ministry’s commitment under the Malaysia MADANI framework.
“We want to ensure that every health allocation delivers a direct impact to the people, guarantees equitable access, and enhances the quality of care regardless of the facility's location,” he said.
Earlier today, the minister made a working visit to the Rompin Health Clinic and Jempol Hospital to observe the facilities' operational realities and hear urgent needs at the grassroots level.
