MyMinyak Data To Be Integrated Into Supply Permit System To Curb Leakages - LKIM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 (Bernama) -- Data from the MyMinyak application will be integrated into the Supply Permit System to curb leakages and ensure more transparent and effective distribution of subsidised petrol for fishermen.

In a statement, the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) said the initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), aims to prevent leakages and misuse of subsidised fuel.

LKIM said the use of technology through the MyMinyak application will also be strengthened as a key regulatory mechanism to monitor eligibility and the quantity of purchases.

“LKIM will continue to monitor the implementation of this initiative at all levels to ensure fishermen under its supervision receive fair benefits.

“Any further claims or needs related to fuel subsidy distribution are being reviewed to identify effective delivery methods and prevent leakages,” the statement said.

LKIM also welcomed KPDN’s announcement that the special permit requirement for purchasing more than 20 litres of subsidised petrol does not apply to fishermen.

The statement said the distribution of subsidised petrol for fishermen is already regulated through the MyMinyak application, ensuring compliance with existing rules at petrol stations listed by LKIM.

“Registered and listed fishermen can continue to obtain subsidised petrol exceeding 20 litres without a special permit, subject to the existing daily limit of 50 litres,” LKIM said.
