Wetland Camp Site Upgraded With Priority On Safety Of Visitors -- Hannah

PUTRAJAYA, May 8 (Bernama) -- The Wetland Park campsite here has been upgraded with visitor safety continuing to be a priority through regular maintenance of facilities and the handling of outdoor activities by certified personnel.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said the move was taken to ensure visitors can carry out recreational and camping activities in a safe and comfortable environment.

"The operator appointed by the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) is an experienced operator who has been given the right to manage camping activities and all activities here.

"The staff deployed by the operator are certified and licensed. This means that safety is the top priority. The equipment is always maintained," she told reporters after officiating the Wetland Park Campsite here today.

She said among the aspects given attention at the campsite, which was developed on an area of ​​5,210 square metres, included lighting, cleanliness, toilet maintenance and security monitoring in line with the aspiration to make Putrajaya a green and livable city.

"There are 48 tents that can accommodate between 120 and 200 visitors at a time. And we offer a rahmah price for two days and one night which is RM30 from Monday to Thursday while on weekends or public holidays it is RM50," she said.

She said visitors can rent tents and other equipment such as chairs, beds and lamps besides enjoying various recreational activities including all-terrain vehicles (ATV), cycling, flying fox, abseiling and jungle trekking.

"We also have a 420-metre long dual zip line which is recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the 'Longest Parallel Double Zip Line' in Malaysia," she said.

Hannah said Putrajaya Wetland Park has shown a consistent increase in visitors over the past three years, from 444,938 visitors in 2023 to 473,602 visitors in 2024, before increasing to 487,371 visitors last year.
