Ahmad Zahid: RIMBUN 2.0 A Platform To Strengthen National Economic Sovereignty

KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has welcomed the organisation of the RIMBUN 2.0 programme by UMNO Youth, describing it as an important platform for gathering views and ideas to strengthen the country’s economic sovereignty.

He said the people want to see debates and discourse which highlight fresh ideas, and the courage to address agenda items and solutions capable of benefiting the country and future generations.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also UMNO president, said the programme brings together various views, ideas and expertise at one discussion table, to strengthen the nation’s economic sovereignty.

“People today want to see debates or discourse which discuss fresh ideas, the courage to address agenda items, and the search for solutions which can truly benefit the country and the future generation.

“I welcome the efforts by UMNO Youth in organising RIMBUN 2.0, which carries the theme ‘Satu Meja. Pelbagai Perspektif. Satu Matlamat: Kedaulatan Ekonomi Negara’ (One Table. Diverse Perspectives. One Goal: National Economic Sovereignty),” he said in a Facebook post, today.

According to him, RIMBUN 2.0 also involves the participation of prominent figures, professionals, university students, entrepreneurs and youths, to share views and jointly shape the country’s future.

“I believe that the country’s economic future cannot be shaped without the voice and involvement of the younger generation,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid also invited the public to attend the programme which will take place tomorrow (May 9) at Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).
