934 Outstanding SPM Students In Sg Buloh Receive RM300,000, Recipient Scope Expanded - Ramanan

09/05/2026 04:11 PM

PETALING JAYA, May 9 (Bernama) -- A total of 934 students who sat for the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency received contributions amounting to about RM300,000, with the scope of recipients expanded to include students who obtained 4As and above.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the expansion was introduced to allow more students to benefit from the contributions, compared with previous years when only candidates who scored 7As and above were eligible.

“A total of 934 SPM 2025 students received contributions, and this year we increased the allocation… RM300,000 has been channelled to all outstanding SPM 2025 students.

“Previously, we only provided this for students with 7As and above, but this year those who obtained 4As, 5As and 6As also received it,” he told reporters after the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Constituency 2025 SPM Outstanding Students Contribution programme here today.

At the same time, Ramanan, who is also the Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament, announced the contribution of 10,000 free bicycles to youths in the area, which are expected to be distributed within three months.

He said the initiative is aimed at encouraging youths to be more active and mobile beyond the surroundings of their respective residential areas.

Earlier in his speech, Ramanan said success in the SPM examination is no longer merely a measure of academic excellence, but rather the starting point of a greater journey towards developing the nation’s future workforce.

He said that his ministry is focused on ensuring students’ excellence continues to be nurtured and translated into holistic personal potential, while opening up broader opportunities in education, careers and social mobility.

He added that the ministry, through its agencies, has also introduced various initiatives to support talent and skills development, including access to high-quality education pathways through the Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC) under the Department of Manpower (JTM).
