KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 (Bernama) -- Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to hit almost all states across the country until 5 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
MetMalaysia, in a warning issued at 2.05 pm today, said that the weather conditions involve Kedah (Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu); Penang (North Seberang Perai, Central Seberang Perai and South Seberang Perai); and the entire state of Johor.
The same situation is predicted to occur in Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Batang Padang and Mualim), Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), and Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman).
Also affected are several areas in Pahang including Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Maran and Rompin, as well as Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat) and Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin).
For Sarawak, the affected areas are Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song), Miri (Miri and Marudi) and Limbang.
Meanwhile, in Sabah, similar weather is expected to hit the Interior areas (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan); West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud); Tawau (Tawau and Kunak) and Kudat.
