ENERtec Asia 2026, ETCon26 Forge Alliance To Power Malaysia's Energy Transition

15/05/2026 08:18 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 (Bernama) -- ENERtec Asia 2026, ASEAN’s premier energy technology exhibition, has entered into a strategic collaboration with the Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26) to create an integrated platform for energy transition execution, bridging national policy, utility strategy, technology innovation, capital and real-world deployment.

In a statement today, the organisers of ENERtec Asia 2026, Informa Markets (with the Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM) as co-host), said the event will feature over 1,000 exhibitors alongside more than 40 conferences and technical seminars.

They added that the exhibition will focus on grid modernisation, renewable energy integration with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), industrial energy efficiency, decarbonisation solutions and the convergence of energy with artificial intelligence (AI).

Meanwhile, ETCon26, powered by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), will host a strategic conference under the theme "Energy & AI: The Synergy for Energy Transition". This conference will centre on three key pillars: Energy for AI, AI for Energy and Energy Transition for People.

“Together, the partnership aims to bridge policy discussions with actionable solutions, connecting national priorities, utility-led planning, private-sector innovation, and investor engagement to support Malaysia’s energy transition goals,” the statement read.

The organisers said the alliance comes as Malaysia enters a decisive implementation phase under the National Energy Transition Roadmap, building on initiatives rolled out since 2023, including utility-scale BESS, nationwide EV charging infrastructure, smart grid development, ASEAN Power Grid interconnection and the rapid expansion of AI-driven data centres.

“The ENERtec Asia–ETCon26 alliance responds to this shift by providing a single, integrated platform that transforms policy ambition into investment-ready opportunities and deployable solutions,” it added.

Taking place from June 3 to 5 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, the co-located events are expected to bring together more than 12,000 policymakers, utilities, technology providers, industrial energy users, investors and innovators from over 60 countries.

The organisers said the platform would provide a seamless pipeline, from regulation and utility roadmap to solution showcasing, financing and project execution.

In the same statement, Informa Markets country general manager Gerard Leeuwenburgh said: "ENERtec Asia 2026 represents a pivotal moment for Southeast Asia's energy transition."

“Together with TEEAM and TNB, we are creating an ecosystem where innovation is translated into implementation – enabling the market to move from ambition to action in support of ASEAN’s net-zero goals,” he said.

Meanwhile, TEEAM president Albert Tan Tin Yau said the platform would serve as a strategic extension of the association's mandate to strengthen Malaysia's electrical and electronics ecosystem.

He added that by convening stakeholders across power generation, grid infrastructure, digital systems, and energy management, the event would help build the partnerships and technical competencies essential to delivering a secure, resilient and sustainable national energy future.

The alliance will also provide participants with access to global thought leadership, AI-powered business matching, next-generation technologies, and engagement opportunities with government agencies, government-linked companies and industry leaders.

The organisers said the collaboration aims to accelerate innovation, partnerships and real-world energy deployment across Southeast Asia.

ENERtec Asia 2026 and ETCon26 are expected to serve as a platform where policy, innovation and commercialisation converge in support of Malaysia's energy transition agenda.
