During the casual meeting, Anwar also signed a banner and a plaque for Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Poi Lam in appreciation of the school's wushu team's recent success at an international competition in China.

Also present were Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and her deputy, Wong Kah Woh.

Meanwhile, special officer to the Tambun MP, Terrence Ng Swee Teck, when met by reporters, said among the matters raised by residents during the session were current issues such as targeted petrol subsidies and the global supply crisis.

He added that the event was also attended by village chiefs, representatives of non-governmental organisations, educators, and headmasters from nearby schools.
