IPOH, May 21 (Bernama) -- The Perak Veterinary Services Department (DSV) managed to foil an attempt to transfer 101 goats illegally in Bidor in an operation named Ops Korban Tegas 2026 early this morning.
Its director, Dr Saifullizam Abd Kadir said an enforcement team managed to stop a vehicle at 3.30 am Thursday at the Southbound Ladang Bikam stop.
“Inspections revealed that the driver failed to produce any legal transfer documents. They acted to cover the entire back-end of the vehicle using canvass to elude authorities,” he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Animals Act 1953, which imposes a fine of no more than RM15,000 if found guilty, he said.
He added that Ops Korban Tegas 2026, conducted in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha, is aimed at controlling and curbing the transfer of livestock without proper approval.
