KUSKOP Contributes 36 Sacrificial Cattle For Aidiladha

25/05/2026 07:47 PM

BUKIT MERTAJAM, May 25 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), through its agencies, has contributed 36 sacrificial cattle in conjunction with this year's Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.

The contribution, totaling RM216,000, was channeled through the Bukit Mertajam Parliamentary Service Centre in collaboration with KUSKOP to assist those in need and to enliven the Islamic spirit in the area.

Special Officer to the Member of Parliament for Bukit Mertajam, Rosly Yusof, said this year's contribution marks a significant increase compared to the initial target of 20 cattle, and a major leap from the 17 cattle managed last year.

"We deeply appreciate the contributions of all sponsoring agencies that came forward to support the vision of KUSKOP Minister and Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim Chee Keong in ensuring the welfare of the community in this area remains protected," he said when contacted by Bernama today.

The Handing Over Ceremony of the Sacrificial Cattle and Replica Check Presentation took place in Bandar Perda and was also attended by the leadership of KUSKOP agencies.

The contribution of sacrificial cattle involves UDA Holdings with 10 head; Bank Rakyat, Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM), the Malaysia Co-operative Societies Commission (SKM), and National Entrepreneur Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional) contributing five head each; while Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (ANGKASA) contributed four, and the Malaysian Co-operative Institute (IKMa) contributed two.

Rosly said the contribution will benefit 27 managements of local mosques, surau, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), Village Community Management Councils (MPKK), and Federal Village Development and Security Committees (JPKKP).

In addition to the distribution, he added that several community programmes have also been planned to strengthen fellowship. This includes a Hari Raya Feast Programme organised by Koperasi Gerbang Malam Perda in collaboration with SKM and the Parliamentary Service Centre on May 30 at the Uptown Bandar Perda Site, as well as a "Kenduri Sekampung" (village feast) on May 31.

Rosly added that Sim, who is also the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, reminded that the sacrificial ritual should be used as a platform to strengthen the values of sacrifice, sincerity, and gratitude for the overall well-being of the people.

"He emphasised that the spirit of Aidiladha must be translated not only through worship but also through efforts to help one another, care for the needy, and strengthen community unity regardless of background," he said.
