Taiwan’s “Go Healthy 2026” Invites Malaysian Participation

28/05/2026 05:18 PM

KUALA LUMPUR,  May 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysian government agencies, enterprises and institutions have been invited to participate in the “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” Global Proposal Campaign, an initiative aimed at deepening international collaboration and accelerating the global expansion of the health and wellness industries.

The campaign, organised by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs in cooperation with the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), aims to integrate Taiwan’s strengths in smart healthcare, sports technology and high-end bicycles.

TAITRA, in a statement said under the theme “Designing Healthier Futures Together”, the initiative encourages global participants to submit innovative application proposals to create health solutions that can be implemented internationally and help co-create a new paradigm for healthier futures.

TITA director-general William Liu, speaking at the campaign’s launch on May 27, said the initiative was introduced to further promote Taiwan’s image as a healthy, innovative and dynamic industrial powerhouse, noting that “Healthy Taiwan” is one of the government’s key policy visions.

“Through a comprehensively upgraded campaign, the initiative aims to generate demonstrative and multiplier effects, positioning Taiwan as the preferred global partner for health solutions,” he said.

The top three winning teams from the 2025 campaign will also be invited to share their collaboration experiences at the Taiwan Expo in Poland this June, he added.

Meanwhile, TAITRA president and chief executive officer Simon Wang said this year’s campaign would be complemented by a series of international trade shows and business-matching events aimed at systematically bringing Taiwan’s innovative strengths to the global stage.

He said the initiative would help enterprises, including those from Malaysia, build deeper connections with global buyers, investors and startup teams, while creating tangible international orders and long-term partnerships.

The launch event was attended by nearly 100 distinguished guests, including representatives from the Taiwan Bicycle Association, Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association and the Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association, alongside foreign envoys stationed in Taiwan.

Building on the inaugural 2025 campaign, which attracted 638 proposals from 55 countries, the 2026 edition aims to expand further by attracting more than 800 proposals from five continents.

The launch event also featured a “Health AI Hub” exhibition zone highlighting innovations in cycling, fitness and sports technology, as well as smart healthcare.

The exhibition brought together Taiwanese companies including Acer Gadget, Tokuyo, Makalot, Newtown, Gee Hoo, Ideas Lab, AKIMIA and Vast to showcase forward-looking applications ranging from low-carbon mobility to precision healthcare and healthy ageing management.

“The exhibits collectively highlighted Taiwan’s strengths in integrating technological innovation with sustainability, offering a glimpse into the next generation of healthy living,” according to the statement.

Applications for the “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” Global Proposal Campaign are open until Aug 5, with the top three winning teams each set to receive US$30,000 to support initiatives that advance global health and well-being.
