PUTRAJAYA, May 29 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Education (MOE) will implement the provision of book vouchers for secondary school students soon.
According to a statement from MOE, the initiative announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is being finalised and is expected to benefit more than two million students.
"This initiative also coincides with MOE's efforts to make reading a priority among students which can improve the command of language and knowledge," the statement said today.
Earlier, the Prime Minister announced the provision of RM100 book vouchers for secondary school students under MOE and students of Public Higher Education Institutions when officiating the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL) 2026.
He said the initiative would continue for this year and could be used at PBAKL 2026 which will run for 10 days starting today until June 7 at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL).
