MPHTJ Offers Up To 80 Pct Off Compounds During Kesidang WRUR Program

MELAKA, June 7 (Bernama) -- Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ) is offering discounts of up to 80 per cent on selected compounds during the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme for the Kesidang state constituency from today until June 13.

MPHTJ president Datuk Sapiah Haron said residents may settle their compounds at Madrasah Al-Jariah, Taman Melaka Baru 3 today, the Kesidang State Constituency Development and Coordination Committee office from June 8 to 12, and Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Merdeka on June 13. 

"The initiative is aimed at encouraging the public to settle outstanding compounds, including parking offences, through MPHTJ's mobile payment counter at WRUR programme venues,” she told reporters at the Jalinan Mesra Perpaduan @ KRT Kesidang programme at Madrasah Al-Jariah here, today.

The event was in conjunction with the WRUR Kesidang programme and was officiated by Melaka Executive Councillor for Entrepreneur Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs Allex Seah Shoo Chin, who is also the Kesidang state assemblyman.

Sapiah said the discount offer would not apply to compounds related to earthworks, operations, compounds with summons status or court action cases.

Meanwhile, she said MPHTJ is allocating RM40,000 monthly for tree-cutting and pruning works within its administrative area in the constituency to maintain the area's cleanliness and landscape while ensuring the safety of residents. 

Sapiah added that the council would also organise a large-scale community clean-up event at Taman Merdeka on June 13 as part of the WRUR programme.
