N.Sembilan Committed To Supporting Halal Industry Agenda - Aminuddin

09/06/2026 10:51 PM

SEREMBAN, June 9 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan state government remains committed to advancing the halal industry, which is expected to play a key role in boosting the state’s economy, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

He said the halal industry’s potential goes beyond food and beverages, covering sectors such as tourism, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education and logistics, as well as other supporting industries driving economic opportunities and enhancing public well-being.

According to him, the development of the halal industry is not just an economic opportunity but also a key component of the state’s development strategy, capable of spurring investment growth and creating employment opportunities.

“The halal industry has broad economic spillover effects, driving the growth of small and medium enterprises, strengthening the services sector, boosting exports and attracting new investment that delivers direct benefits to the public.

“This sector can enhance Negeri Sembilan’s image as a progressive and stable state, trusted by investors and well-positioned to meet future economic needs based on sustainability and universal values,” he said at the Negeri Sembilan International Conference and Halal Expo (NICHE) 2026 here today.

Aminuddin said the state government plays a crucial role in developing the halal industry ecosystem by providing strategic industrial areas, improving infrastructure, facilitating investment and implementing various initiatives to support the growth of high-impact industries, including the halal sector.

He said the state’s strategic position at the centre of the country’s key economic corridors gives it a major advantage in becoming a preferred destination for halal investment in Malaysia.

“We have a strong infrastructure network, access to ports and international airports, a competent workforce, and the support of higher education institutions that can contribute to talent development and research in the halal industry,” he said.

The future of the halal industry, he added, does not depend solely on physical facilities or investment, but on the ability to develop talent, foster innovation and build global confidence in the country’s halal standards.
