KUALA LUMPUR, June 16 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, as well as several states until 9 pm today.
MetMalaysia, in a statement, said the adverse weather conditions are forecast to hit Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu in Kedah, as well as Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim in Perak.
Similar weather conditions are also expected in Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Bera and Rompin) and Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat).
In Negeri Sembilan, the affected areas are expected to be Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin, while in Johor, the warning covers Segamat, Kluang and Mersing.
The same warning has also been issued for Sarawak, involving Miri and Limbang, as well as Sabah, covering the interior (Kuala Penyu), west coast (Ranau), Tawau (Tawau, Kunak and Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Beluran) and Kudat (Kota Marudu).
