KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 (Bernama) -- Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has dopted aspenONE engineering, petroleum supply chain and management software by Aspen Technology Inc to optimise its profitability at the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) facility in Pengerang, Johor.
Colin Wong Hee Huing, Senior Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer, Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation said RAPID and six other major associated facilities in Pengerang were the company’s largest downstream investment in Malaysia to date.
“To attain operational excellence via asset optimisation, Petronas has adopted Aspen HYSYS petroleum refining, Aspen plus, Aspen polymers, Aspen PIMS-AO, Aspen petroleum scheduler, Aspen refinery multi-blend optimiser, and Aspen plant scheduler software.
“These solutions maximise margins with better troubleshooting, more robust planning and scheduling, optimised feedstock selection and product blends, improved response and decision-making,” he said in a statement today.
The RAPID project would assist Petronas in producing premium petroleum and speciality chemicals products which is currently in high demand in Asia Pacific.
“Committed to this vision, we have selected a broad range of asset optimisation software solutions across engineering, petroleum supply chain and supply chain management software solutions from AspenTech,” he said.
