Beho Group signs five MoUs, increases durian export to China and Japan

SERDANG, Nov 22 ( Bernama) -- The Beho Group of Companies today paved the way to increase bilateral trade in the export of Malaysian durians to China and Japan with the signing of five  memorandum of understandings (MoU) with several Chinese and Japanese companies.

General Manager Sam Hoo said the signing would set the groundwork for all parties to work on the regulatory, investment and logical framework in creating job opportunities, as well as, enhance co-operation between the three countries. 

"Demand for durians in China is phenomenal, especially the '’Musang King'’ variety and Chinese consumers are willing to pay top dollar for just a taste of one whole fruit. 

"We are taking this opportunity to make inroads there to meet the robust demand for Malaysian durians," he told reporters after the signing of the memorandums at the Malaysian Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism (MAHA) 2018 exhibition here today. 

The 11-day MAHA 2018 themed, “Makanan Kita, Masa Depan Kita”, (Our food, our future) kicked off today at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (Maeps) in Serdang.

The five memorandums signed by the Beho Group of Companies were with China's Tmall Global, Alibaba's Win-Chain, China Certification and Inspection Co (CCIC) , Shanghai Yechen Industrial Co Ltd , Henan Yuetai Supply Chain Co Ltd, Qingdao Nine-Alliance Group Co Ltd and Daiho Nippon Co Ltd. 

The MoUs would also focus on the export of strealised, raw, uncleaned edible bird's nest to China and the import of broiler chicken into Malaysia. 

Beho Group is made up of four companies in Malaysia and China, involved in mineral resources and agricultural sector, primarily involved in the export durian, bird's nest and timber.
