SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 -- A 66-year-old man died after he slit his own throat following an accident involving his car and another vehicle in Tanjung Karang, near here, early today which killed the other motorist, police said.
Kuala Selangor deputy police chief DSP Noor Janihan Nanyan said the senior citizen, who was driving his Mercedes Benz along Jalan Tali Air Sawah Sempadan, had stopped his car in the middle of the road, causing a Perodua Myvi driven by 40-year-old Muhammad Fadzli Muhammad Yusari to crash into it.
The impact caused the Myvi, which was coming from Rawang towards Tanjong Karang, to be flung into a ditch.
“After the incident, the elderly man slit his throat and died at the scene. Muhammad Fadzli, who sustained severe head injuries, was also pronounced dead at the scene,” he said.
Bernama learnt that the elderly man was believed to be suffering from mental problems and that several witnesses have seen him slitting his own throat.
Noor Janihan said both the bodies were sent to the Tanjong Karang Hospital for post-mortem.
