KUANTAN, Oct 20 -- Thirteen villagers of Kampung Kuala Repas, Bentong were evacuated to a temporary flood shelter (PPS) after their houses were inundated in a flash flood last night.
Pahang Civil Defence Force (APM) director Zainal Yusoff said the rain which lasted 20 minutes at 8 pm caused three houses in the area to be under six inches (0.152 metre) of water.
“On receiving follow-up information by APM at 8.45 pm, a PPS was set up at Kampung Kuala Repas surau at 10.15 pm.
"The evacuation centre is housing three men, three women and seven children from three families,” he said in statement here today.
There were no injuries reported so far and losses were still being investigated, he said.
