KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Batik Entrepreneurs Association (PPBT) will be organising the 2025 Aidilfitri Craft Bazaar at the Craft Complex, Jalan Conlay, here, next week, following the postponement of the National Craft Day (HKK) 2025.
PPBT president Shafei Ghazali said the 2025 Aidilfitri Craft Bazaar will run for 10 days, starting from March 18, starting 10 am to 7 pm from Mondays to Thursdays, and will be extended until 10 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Shafei said there will be 80 stalls offering a variety of batik, songket, silverware, rattan products, and accessories such as handbags, songkoks, tarbushes, various bags, and festive biscuits.
"The largest group of entrepreneurs are from Terengganu, while others are from Kelantan, Selangor, Pahang, Perlis, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah, and Sarawak," he said in a statement today.
Shafei added that the aim of the bazaar is to assist the association's members in marketing their products, which had been completed earlier for participation in the HKK, which was originally scheduled to be held from Feb 14 to 25.
"This is being done to fulfil the wishes of our members who have spent a significant amount of money and effort, and are eager to market their products that have been prepared since the beginning for National Craft Day," he said.
Meanwhile, PPBT Secretary Nurul Hamizah Deraman, who is responsible for promoting the 2025 Aidilfitri Craft Bazaar, stated that various activities are planned throughout the 10-day bazaar, including a lucky draw offering exciting prizes.
The founder of the Association of Traditional Textiles Lovers and Enthusiasts (CITRA) and also the Deputy President of CITRA, Fatimah Ismail, said the organisation of the bazaar not only provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their products but also helps generate income in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebrations.
