1.PRAMONO CLAIMS VICTORY IN JAKARTA GUBERNATORIAL RACE -- THE JAKARTA POST

Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Pramono Anung has declared victory in the city’s recent election, despite inconclusive results from pollsters on whether the race will finish in a single round or proceed to a runoff.

 

2.KPU SAYS NO WINNER YET IN JAKARTA GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION -- JAKARTA GLOBE

The General Election Commission (KPU) told gubernatorial candidates in Jakarta on Thursday to refrain from claiming victory too early, saying the official tally is still weeks away from being announced.

1.HONG LEONG CHIEF MEETS PRIME MINISTER - - FRESH NEWS 
Hong Leong Industries Bhd Chairman Datuk Kwek Leng San met Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace yesterday. Their talks centred around Cambodia's investment policies and the company’s business activities, which include finance, real estate, manufacturing and technology. 

 

2.SURVEY SAYS PRESS FREEDOM THRIVES IN CAMBODIA - - AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 
 The Ministry of Information said a survey revealed that 79.8 per cent of the respondents acknowledged Cambodia’s press freedom has improved. Nearly 80 per cent of journalists claim they are free to pursue journalism, easy and safe to source for information.

1.LAOS-CHINA AGREE ON ALCOHOL STANDARDS - - VIENTIANE TIMES
 The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an agreement with the China National Research Institute of Food and Fermentation Industries to set common standards and regulations on alcoholic beverages to ensure quality product enters Laotian market.

 

 

2.LAOS TO RAISE TOURISM SECTOR STANDARDS - - VIENTIANE TIMES
 The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism has formulated master plans to improve tourism infrastructures and service standards to transform Laos into a more attractive destination for tourists in ASEAN. Over five million tourists visited Laos this year generating more than RM4.3 billion in revenue.

1.MYANMAR MARKS CENTENARY ECONOMIC EDUCATION - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 
 At the 100th anniversary of Myanmar Economics and Business Education celebration yesterday, academics deliberated on overcoming contemporary challenges facing the nation. Global economic headwinds, international development assistance impact, migrant workers, sustainable energy resources and ASEAN Economic Community’s challenges.

 

2.MINISTRY FACILITATES UNHCR’S WORK IN MYANMAR - - THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR
The Ministry for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) discussed issues related to residence permits, entry visas, and domestic travel authorisations for UNHCR’s international staff and its humanitarian aid in flood-impacted areas.

1.VIETNAM RICE EXPORTS HIT EIGHT MILLION TONNES - - VIETNAM NEWS 
 Vietnam exported 8.05 million tonnes of rice that generated RM21.5 billion from January until mid-November — a record sales for the country. The Philippines is the largest rice importer, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia. The rise in broken exports enabled Vietnam to be a major exporter.   

 

2.DELAY IN LAND EVALUATION CHOKES REAL ESTATE - - VIETNAMPLUS
 The Vietnam Association of Construction Contractors said obstacles in land evaluation are causing real estate prices to escalate in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities. Many projects have not been valued which impacted investments and construction.
