FINAS Organising Five-Day Film Screening, Appreciation Programme Ahead Of FFM33 Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) is organising a free film screening and appreciation programme involving works nominated for the Best Film category at the 33rd Malaysian Film Festival (FFM33).

FFM33 Awards Night is scheduled to take place on Dec 7 with 95 nominations comprising 64 feature films, 20 short films and 11 documentaries.

Finas said in a statement here today that the screening programme would last for five days starting Monday (Dec 2) in the evening at GSC Mid Valley here and among the films involved were Duan Nago Bogho, Imaginur, Mechamato Movie, Hungry Ghost Diner and Rain Town.

"The main purpose of this programme is to open up an opportunity for the general public interested in attending the film screening and appreciation session which includes the sharing of ideas and opinions about the film with the panelists.

"In addition, this programme also helps to promote and increase the publicity of FFM33 among local and international industry players," read the statement.

In addition to the films nominated for the Best Film category, Finas is also holding a public screening session of 63 film titles competing at FFM33, also for free, starting today until Dec 6, with registration to be made at https://tinyurl.com/TayanganPercumaFFM33.

Film screening venues are at Mid Valley (Golden Screen Cinema, KL), Imago Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and Spring Mall in Kuching, Sarawak.
