KOTA KINABALU, Jan 1 (Bernama) -- Sabah will continue to thrive in peace, success, and prosperity under the leadership of Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Describing Musa as a unifying figure, Hajiji said he embodies the state’s sovereignty and plays a vital role in fostering unity and harmony within Sabah’s diverse society.

"The esteemed institution of the Yang Dipertua Negeri will always be revered as a cornerstone of unity and a proud symbol of Sabah’s sovereignty,” he said at the swearing-in ceremony of the 11th Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah at Istana Seri Kinabalu here today.

Tun Musa, accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, arrived at the ceremonial hall at 10.11 am and took the oath of office at 10.22 am.

Hajiji reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to driving Sabah’s development, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of its people.

Sabah recorded a significant increase in revenue, collecting nearly RM7 billion last year, thanks to effective financial management, said Hajiji.

He attributed this remarkable achievement to the dedication and hard work of the state’s leadership and civil service.

"The government prioritises the people’s welfare by implementing various programmes, initiatives, and assistance, particularly for the needy and hardcore poor,” Hajiji added.

He said these advancements align with the goals of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) roadmap, launched nearly four years ago.

"The government is committed to preserving Sabah’s natural resources, safeguarding cultural heritage and traditions, maintaining longstanding unity and harmony, and prioritising public safety to ensure the people’s continued well-being,” he added.
