KUALA NERUS, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- Poor finishing led to Terengganu FC's (TFC) 0-1 defeat to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in their Super League match at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) last night, said the Turtles head coach, Badrul Afzan Razali.
The 48-year-old coach expressed his disappointment with the forward line's inefficiency, as they failed to convert clear scoring opportunities into goals.
He said his players displayed disciplined performances throughout both halves of the match, but the inability to capitalise on chances left them without any points at home.
"Personally, I am satisfied and commend the disciplined performance of my players who followed the game plan.
"However, I am very disappointed that in both the first and second halves, we had many clear chances. At the very least, we could have drawn the match. But against JDT, we cannot afford to make such mistakes (poor finishing)," he said after the match.
Meanwhile, the Southern Tigers head coach Hector Bidoglio stated that JDT will continue their winning momentum in upcoming matches to ensure the Super League title remains with his team this season.
With last night's victory, JDT only needs six more points to secure their 11th consecutive league championship.
Currently, TFC are in fourth place, behind Sabah FC, with 24 points.
