MELAKA, 29 Jan (Bernama) -- RM150,000 worth of food vouchers are prepared for visitors at the Melaka-level Chinese New Year celebration to be held at Jalan Rahmat 4, Malim Jaya this Feb 8.
Kesidang Assemblyman Allex Seah Shoo Chin said about 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the celebration where they will be given food vouchers, each worth RM15.
“Visitors are to use the vouchers to redeem for food and drinks from the various food stalls at the venue,” he told reporters here today.
He said the approach of giving vouchers is to make it easier for visitors to choose food or drinks according to their tastes.
“In a way, it is also to help the food traders,” he said, adding that various programmes are also lined up to entertain the visitors, such as arts and cultural performances.
Seah said there would also be lucky draws offering various attractive and lucrative prizes for visitors, assuring them of ample parking space in the area.
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh is also expected to attend the event which will be from 6 pm to 11 pm, he added.
