Selangor UMNO To Assist Couple Facing Hardships, Says Ahmad Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- The perseverance of Norazlina Zakaria and Mohd Nazri Mohd Zain, a couple facing numerous hardships, has caught the attention of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who has expressed commitment to offer assistance.

In a Facebook post today, the UMNO president said that Selangor UMNO would assist Norazlina, 43, and Mohd Nazri, 40, with essential needs such as rent and providing better living conditions.

“Insya-Allah, efforts are actively being made to ensure their welfare is well taken care of.

“The story of Azlina and Nazri is not a usual tale. It is one of perseverance, love and selfless sacrifice. They are not only facing one, but several trials that demand extraordinary patience,” he said, referring to their story recently reported by the media.

Ahmad Zahid also said that his political secretary Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin, who represented him along with Selangor UMNO leadership, had visited the couple.

“Azlina, a determined woman, carries a great responsibility, which is caring for her husband, Nazri, who has been bedridden since their early marriage, while also looking after her 92-year-old grandmother who suffered a stroke, as well as an aunt with autism.

“What amazes me even further is that their home has become a transit place for individuals with disabilities seeking treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital. Allahuakbar. Despite their own struggles, they continue to give and care,” he said.

According to Ahmad Zahid, he would appeal to the relevant authorities for quicker and more comprehensive healthcare for the couple.

“Let us all pray that Azlina and Nazri are granted strength and abundant blessings,” he added.
