KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- Nearly 1,500 visitors and job seekers took advantage of the weekend to attend the MyFutureJobs X Public Service Commission (SPA) career carnival, which started today.

Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), Head of Employment Services Department, Employment Insurance System, V. Gayathri, said attendance is expected to rise tomorrow, potentially reaching the target of 3,000 visitors.

The two-day carnival offers job opportunities across manufacturing, aviation, hospitality and banking sectors as well as statutory bodies such as the Employees Provident Fund.

“PERKESO has also recently partnered with HCL Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd to provide job interviews in high-skill fields, particularly in the IT sector. We are offering salaries of up to RM20,000, with various positions available today.

“We encourage job seekers and professionals looking to advance their careers to visit the carnival at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur before 5 pm tomorrow,” she said after a walkabout session at the venue today.

Gayathri said the large-scale collaboration with SPA, held for the first time, has created numerous job and service opportunities for visitors and job seekers.

“PERKESO has also brought in 35 private-sector employers offering job opportunities today, with on-the-spot interviews,” she said.

During the event, SPA conducted open interviews for the U9 Instructor Grade (dental technologist) position, subject to candidates meeting the required qualifications and based on vacancies within the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

Additionally, visitors had the opportunity to participate in the Physical, Sensory, and Fitness Assessment, a proactive initiative by SPA to identify high-quality candidates.

Visitor Mohd Azmanizam Ali, 29, viewed the carnival as a one-stop platform to explore job opportunities across various fields and industries with ease.

"I was in the gig sector. When I found out about this carnival, I was immediately drawn to explore better job opportunities. Alhamdulillah, the process here has been smooth and very customer-friendly," he said.

Meanwhile, university student Nur Syuhaida Samsudin, 23, hopes the carnival will be expanded to local universities to expose students to the current demands of the job market.

“Events like this provide valuable insights for students, helping us prepare for the workforce. I hope PERKESO and SPA will continue to organise more career fairs or roadshows like this,” she said.
