Johor Corporation president and chief executive, and KPJ Healthcare University chairman, Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, stated that the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions, healthcare providers, and industry players to enhance medical care and outcomes.
“Our vision is clear. It is to transform hospitals into centres of continuous learning and innovation, integrate research-driven insights into patient care, and develop future-ready healthcare professionals,” he said in his opening address at the launch of Partnerships for Impact: Advancing Healthcare through Education & Research, here today.
The event was officiated by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir.
Also present were Higher Education director-general Datuk Prof Dr. Azlinda Azman, KPJ Healthcare University chancellor Prof Emerita Tan Sri Dr. Sharifah Hapsah Syed Hassan Shahabuddin, KPJ Healthcare Berhad president and managing director Chin Keat Chyuan, and other esteemed partners.
As part of the initiative, KPJ is partnering with TrustR, Arcadia Life Science, and Supergenic Life Sciences, all dedicated to transforming research into better care, faster diagnoses, and new hope for patients in need.
“TrustR is leveraging AI-driven technology to develop non-invasive biomarker measurement, making early detection more precise and accessible, while Arcadia Life Science focuses on non-invasive cancer screening, which could transform treatment strategies and improve survival rates.

KPJ is also collaborating with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi MARA to advance Malaysia’s expertise in precision medicine and disease prevention.
The programme also focuses on leadership development, with KPJ launching a new executive education initiative with Melbourne University and Singapore Management University.
“This programme will equip healthcare executives with strategic and operational expertise to navigate the complexities of modern healthcare,” he said.
