KUALA BERANG, July 4 (Bernama) -- Terengganu Wanita UMNO has been urged to immediately begin its groundwork in preparation to recapture the state in the upcoming general election.
Wanita UMNO chief, Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, reminded party members not to dwell on UMNO’s defeat in the 15th General Election (GE15), but instead to rise and focus on rebuilding public support for the party.
“We must return stronger and work towards becoming the dominant party in the next election. Set aside differences and start working hard from now,” she said when officiating the Hulu Terengganu UMNO division meeting involving the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings here today.
Also present was UMNO Terengganu liaison committee chairman Datuk Rozi Mamat
Noraini, who is also Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, stressed the importance of all three wings working in harmony to ensure effective outreach to communities at every level.
“We must stay close to the people. The Youth and Puteri wings should continue their campaigns via social media, while Wanita must carry on with face-to-face engagement, going house to house to reach the grassroots,” she said.
