MUAR, July 15 (Bernama) -- The driver of a car, in his 40s, is still missing after the vehicle plunged into Sungai Kampung Tui near the Kampung Kecil bridge along Jalan Bukit Kepong in Pagoh earlier today.
Pagoh Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, Senior Fire Officer I Nor Alfatah Omar, said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3.22 pm.
Seven firefighters from the Pagoh and Muar stations were dispatched to the scene, along with a Light Fire Rescue Tender and a Toyota Hilux 4WD.
“Upon arriving at the scene around 3.51 pm, the team found that a Perodua Axia had plunged into a river about two metres deep.
“Initial information from the Royal Malaysia Police indicated that the accident may have occurred yesterday, and a missing adult male is believed to be the driver,” he said in a statement today.
The search and rescue operation is still underway.
