KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has identified six key strategic pillars to strengthen operational readiness and uphold its legacy in meeting future challenges.
RMAF Chief General Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris said every member must fully understand and implement these pillars holistically across all formations.
The pillars include achieving peak capability and readiness, ensuring the sustainability of air defence assets, enhancing personnel excellence, strengthening logistics support, empowering doctrine and procedures, and sustaining personnel welfare.
“Understanding and internalising these pillars will provide a strong foundation to elevate the force to greater heights,” he said during his inaugural command address at Subang Air Base today.
He added that RMAF must remain mission-ready by learning from recent conflicts involving Russia-Ukraine, Iran-Israel and India-Pakistan. Regular monitoring of nine strategic targets and seven key Capability Development Plan 2055 programmes will continue on schedule.
Norazlan also announced the introduction of Body Mass Index as a supplementary career development indicator to promote a healthy, fit, and disciplined force.
“This is not a punitive measure but a way to encourage a healthier lifestyle and military professionalism,” he said, adding that a phased fitness programme tailored to age groups will start this year.
